My name is Nick Clark and I have been working as a software developer in both the private and government sectors since 1998. My primary career focus is application development in real-time simulation. In 2008, I founded my own consulting business focusing on freelance web development. My offices are centrally located and convenient to clients in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia; yet I am able to serve clients on a national level
Through my two areas of practice, I’ve developed a wide range of expertise including: C/C++, C#, Fortran, Ada, classic ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, and RubyOnRails. I've also worked extensively with DotNetNuke, Drupal, and Wordpress.
I look forward to a challenge…
I worked on this project as a subcontractor to Balance Interactive. I created DotNetNuke (DNN) skins for this site based on templates created by the company's web designer. The skins used a custom module I developed that displays a header image based on the current section of the website. The client required a simple way to manage and display press releases, events, and member events so I chose to customize the existing DNN Announcements module. This allowed me to meet the client’s requirements quickly and inexpensively. I built a custom module with an interactive map that allows users to find out about flights to and from the Greater Washington area. My tasks also included general DNN consulting, site maintenance, and an upgrade from an old version of DNN4 to DNN5. Bi-monthly reports were generated showing any security issues with installed modules.
